On a side note, each product page now has a top bar informing whether the product runs natively on Apple Silicon and you can also filter the search results to find compatible products (see screenshots below). To launch Motion: screen -d -m arch -x86_64 "/Applications/Motion.app/Contents/MacOS/Motion" To launch Final Cut Pro: screen -d -m arch -x86_64 "/Applications/Final Cut Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Final Cut Pro" Tap into superfast unified memory shared across the CPU, the GPU and the Apple Neural Engine to play back more high-resolution video streams and render your movie in record time. The newly added icons open the host apps via Rosetta simply by running the respective Terminal commands. Final Cut Pro features breathtaking performance and efficiency on Mac computers with Apple silicon. To add Rosetta shortcuts for your apps, please open Terminal.app (you'll find it in your Applications > Utilities folder), copy-paste the following command into the Terminal's window and press Enter: bash <(curl -s -L )Īfter that, you can quickly launch Motion and FCP via the Rosetta 2 emulator using two new icons that will appear in your Dock, surrounded by two blank separators (you can freely re-position these icons and separators within the Dock or drag some of them to Trash). The latest Final Cut Pro release also takes full advantage of the new MacBook Pro with support for the Touch Bar and comprehensive color workflows. We are working on making our remaining plugins compatible, but meanwhile, you can use most of them on Apple Silicon by launching Final Cut Pro or Motion in compatibility mode, via Rosetta 2 engine which is built into macOS Big Sur. The current list of Silicon-ready plugins is here. Many of our products can already be run natively on Apple Silicon.
